Metropolitan State University of Denver is a leader and innovator in higher education and wanted more influencers across the country to know about its success (with the added benefit that students, faculty and supporters back in the Mile High City would also appreciate the attention from external audiences). ASPR developed a dynamic media outreach initiative focused on the unique spokespeople and students that help MSU Denver stand out in a crowded field.

ASPR secured news coverage in national media, including a profile of MSU Denver President Dr. Janine Davidson in Hempisheres magazine (the inflight magazine for United, which is a major local employer) and coverage in The Wall Street Journal that highlighted a marketing faculty member’s expertise. President Davidson also shared her perspective on international issues during the outbreak of the Ukraine invasion thanks to our media connections. We landed additional positive coverage for the university’s diversity initiatives in Diverse: Issues in Higher Education, Indian Country Today and Dr. Robert Scott’s column in Higher Ed Jobs.

Students are the heart of every campus and we knew the story of quadruplets all graduating from MSU Denver at the same time was a winning narrative and convinced People magazine to share the news.

As a result of these efforts and others, MSU Denver has increased awareness of its accomplishments.
