ASPR worked with Lewis University in Chicago as it prepared for the retirement of its longtime president, Brother James Gaffney. The assignment included the coordination of a congressional resolution honoring Brother James for his service; the clip of the resolution being read on the floor of the U.S. House can be seen at http://cs.pn/1STWr6l. ASPR engaged the American Council on Education and the National Association of Independent Colleges & Universities to acknowledge the president’s leadership as well as the U.S. secretary of transportation; Lewis has one of the top aviation programs in the country.
We also helped raise the profile of the institution and Brother James during the visit of the Pope to America through media interviews and an op-ed that was placed in the Chicago Sun-Times: http://bit.ly/1WWffJp
ASPR also connected the university to media outlets interested in how it was coping with a funding stand-off in the state: http://huff.to/1TstxzI
Ultimately, Lewis was able to give a fitting tribute to its leader while also raising the visibility of its academic profile.
