The American Pops Orchestra (APO) was founded in the nation’s capital with the aim of breathing new life into orchestral pop programming and inspiring new audiences to discover the wealth of material in the Great American Songbook in dynamic ways. ASPR has helped fans discover APO with in-studio TV performances, in-depth interviews and profiles. Many performances attract VIPs and celebrities, such as when Kiefer Sutherland (left in photo below) attended, an appearance ASPR helped get noticed by The Washington Post, NBC and POLITICO. The highlight of the 2019 season was APO’s first-ever sold-out concert, which was a tribute show to the music of Dolly Parton.
